Wrinkles and facial lines result from ageing and your genetic predisposition. In addition, excessive sun exposure, alcohol consumption, emotional and hormonal influences and smiling can also increase the likelihood of wrinkles.

Ageing gracefully
As we age, our skin is unable to cope with facial movements as easily as it used to. When we are young we are able to frown and the furrow will disappear but, as we age, the elasticity reduces, thereby leaving you with a more permanent scar or wrinkles.
If you are not happy with this ageing process, a series of small injections of BOTOX® or Bocouture can help soften fine lines and wrinkles. The process does not need to leave you with a frozen face, when done sympathetically by a qualified clinician. You can lose the lines but still have a natural appearance.

Visibly fast results
Your facial expression will become more relaxed but by no means mask-like, the overall result being very natural. The effect of treatment generally lasts for about 3-4 months. A re-treatment is then required. The initial effects of treatment become can begin from 5 days. The maximum effect is reached in about 2-3 weeks.
At your initial consultation, prior to your treatment, you will meet with Dr Rachel Mckinney who will answer your questions and assess your suitability to proceed and agree the areas you want treated. He may recommend dermal fillers for deeper lines and wrinkles. You will then be booked in for your treatment at a time convenient to you.
Pre treatment photographs will be taken and the treatment, administered by Rachel Mckinney. The treatment, administered by our Aesthetic Practitioner Dr Rachel Mckinney, is injected directly into the wrinkles which results in temporarily relaxing the facial muscles and preventing the formation of wrinkles, whilst existing lines are softened. Because a very fine needle is used, most patients find that there is only mild and temporary discomfort. The entire procedure usually takes no longer than 15 minutes and during this time Dr Rachel Mckinney will discuss with you the results that you can expect to see and advise repeat treatments that will be suitable for you.
2 weeks after treatment, you will return to the practice to review the treatment and take post-treatment photos for your records.

As we age, our faces can lose some definition, we develop lines where we don’t remember having lines or folds in our skin. Just by a subtle use of product you can have a natural looking younger you.
The benefit of using the Restylane, (Hyaluronic acid) is that it is replacing the product which we naturally lose as we age. Also, as an added benefit it can soften the skin in the area as it acts as an internal moisturiser.

Topical anaesthetic cream is applied prior to the procedure to ensure a comfortable experience. The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes.
You will see immediately visible results with further improvement over the following few weeks.
